HOLT Together WhatsApp Group
The Parish Council is delighted with the response from residents to join the HOLT Together WhatsApp group. This initiative marks a significant step in improving communication within our community, allowing us to share information, updates and alerts with residents swiftly. We encourage everyone who hasn't yet joined to consider signing up by emailing the Clerk, ensuring you stay up to date with all Parish matters.
Dorset Local Plan Consultation
Last month, members approved the Parish Council’s official response to the Dorset Local Plan Consultation. This important document, which outlines our collective views and priorities for the future development of the area, is available to view online at www.holt-dorset-pc.gov.uk It was also shared with the community via HOLT Together. The Council thanks everyone who expressed their appreciation for our efforts and to those who were able to submit their own responses. Your engagement is vital to shaping the future of our Parish. As preparation of the Local Plan progresses, we will keep you informed.
Planning Applications
Our October meeting saw members considering several planning applications, which continue to form a substantial part of the Parish Council’s workload. As we receive notification of applications from Dorset Council, we post them on our website to provide residents with as much advance notice as possible. We encourage everyone to review these postings regularly and share your views, as your input helps guide our decision-making process.
New Speed Limits on the Horizon
Highways remain a major focus for the Parish Council. We are pleased to report that, following a successful Public Consultation, Dorset Council is aiming to install the three agreed new sections of speed limits within the Parish. This much-anticipated improvement is scheduled for January 2026 and is aimed at enhancing road safety for all residents. We will continue to keep you updated as further details are confirmed.
