The scheme is run by a small group of dedicated local volunteers who organise the operation, take calls, administer the finances and, of course, do the driving. We help residents who, for whatever reason, cannot drive or use public transport to get to the doctors, hospital, dentist, go shopping or even just to see friends.

The scheme has 35 registered users and can accommodate new requests and has recently welcomed two new volunteer drivers to the team. We would always like to have more drivers on the team as it makes it easier to match user requests with available drivers. The users make a donation to the scheme and the drivers claim a mileage allowance towards petrol costs. If at the end of the financial year, we have surplus funds we often donate to a local charity or good cause.
